This
car was completed over a period of 5 years. Every step of the build was
documented on www.Lambobuilder.com
web site. This is the vehicle that was used in writing the
instruction
manual for the IFG Roadsters.
Engine: New
1997 Cadillac Northstar. Appx. 300 hp. K & N filter, Computer and wiring
harness from Howell Engine Development. Custom dual rear radiators as on
original Diablo with electric cooling fans. These radiators are 4 core
high efficiency radiators. Engine oil cooler and transmission cooler.
Hoses detailed with braided sleeving. Dual exhaust system with monza tips.
This vehicle does not have a catalytic converter. Engine and Transmission
mounted transversely in original Fiero. Less than 1000 miles on engine.
Suspension:
Tube suspension from Ryane Motorsports with Carrera front coil overs, Shelby
Custom rear coil overs (both height adjustable). All new poly bushings
throughout suspension, all new ball joints, and new bearings and races
throughout. Front suspension also features Air shock system with onboard
compressor, to help clearance front spoiler (activated by switch in
interior). Steel reinforced front bumper. Front of car can actually be
lifted by placing jack under front lip.
Braking:
Front RCC 11” vented rotors with new calipers, high flow master cylinder.
Parking Brake. 10.5" disks with working parking brake on rear.
Lighting and
Emblems: Original Lamborghini tail lights and turn signals. Original
emblems. Nissan 300Z fixed headlights as on original Diablo (1999 to
present). Front driving and fog lights.
Interior:
2000 style Lamborghini replica dash with VDO instruments. Speedometer is
Autometer. Leather interior, with new carpet and floor mats. Correct
replica seats, carbon fiber panels for instruments and center console
area. Car retains GM steering column with tilt , Lamborghini
steering wheel. A/C,defrost and heating system from the Fiero using
Northstar A/C compressor and its own electric fan on the Fiero condenser.
Also lighted (door activated) rearview mirror, and lights installed on
bottom of doors when up.
Electronics:
Alpine Amplifier, Polk Audio speakers with 10" subwoofer. Kenwood radio
and CD Player that hides when power is off. Powered antenna that only
raises when radio is played. Stays down when playing CD. Stellar Alarm
system. Rear deck lid and rear trunk open electronically. Quick
disconnect on battery is located in the front trunk area.
Paint:
Spies Hecker Blue Black basecoat clear coat.
Tires and
Wheels: Compomotive rims, 9" on front and 12.5" on back. Dunlop 245/40
ZR17s on the front and 335/35 ZR17s on the
rear.
Registration:
This car has been in two car shows and won first place in both shows. The
car was j licensed in November of 2002. It is titled in Texas as a 2002
assembled vehicle. VIN # is TEX112112
